Happy Thanksgiving

We had a pretty relaxing Thanksgiving today. We traveled to Bridgeport to be with Bobby's family. His aunt and uncle have a lovely home on the lake and it is always nice to get to spend time out there. Jackson loves to be there and run around and play outside! I had great intentions of making a dessert to take, but after trying to "make it work" I ended up trashing it! I was a bit disappointed in myself, but I didn't let it ruin my day. Anyhow, there was plenty of yummy food to fulfill our appetites! Thank you, Aunt Sandy for a wonderful Thanksgiving lunch! I hope that your holiday was spent with the ones you are thankful for.

Air Guitar Night

While Jimmy Hendrix and Steven Tyler wished they could have been there, "Air Guitar Night" commenced at our home the other night. Thirty minutes and 2.5 gigobytes of memory later... well as they say a picture is worth a thousand words.

It's beginning to look...

....a lot like Christmas! Yes, I have my tree decorated and most of the house decorated for Christmas. Jackson has been asking for the last two weeks and this past Sunday seemed like a good day to let the season begin! I really enjoy unwrapping each ornament and remembering when I received it and the memories that come with some of them.

Shocking News, Air Show, and Halloween Pictures

I have had this on my mind since the night Bobby woke me from my sleep to tell me. He usually does not wake me up once I am asleep, but he knew that I would be shocked at the news. It wasn't until the next day, sitting at my desk at school, that it really sank in and I completely realized what Bobby had told me.

My favorite clothing store, Harolds, is going out of business! As I sat at my desk, I was in a bit of disbelief, so I Googled it, and sure enough it was true. I thought for sure just the people I personally know who shop there could keep the store thriving! I have been a loyal customer since high school and I am now a little perplexed on where I will now find the quality clothing that I am used to.

Last month Bobby and Jackson went to the Air Show in Ft. Worth. This is an event they both look forward to each year. Since the noise would not be good for Madelyn's little ears, we opted out of going with the boys this year. Jackson is a bit sensitive to loud noises, so Bobby had to purchase a pair of "earmuffs" to muffle the sound. Jacson had a blast getting to go inside the airplanes and sit in the pilot seat. Hum...do I sense a future pilot, like his Daddy?

And finally, a few pics from Halloween. They aren't how I had visioned them to be, but I did the best I could having just had my appendix removed the day before!

I usually frown upon putting Christmas decorations up before Thanksgiving, but I do believe I am going to this year. I am planning on trimming the tree next weekend. And, so that I am not sending Christmas cards out after Christmas this year, we will be taking our picture and getting the cards done early this year! Maybe ours will be the first you receive this year, instead of the last!

Surviving!

What a whirlwind the last few weeks have been. My first week back to school left me completely beat and dog tired. The chidlren were great, but Mrs. Callaway wants everything to be perfect and probably overdid it...just a tad! Then came week 2 (last week) and that is a whole different story.
Thursday afternnon I was visiting with my teammates during planning time and had a slight discomfort in my right side. No big deal, I kept on with what I was doing. As I went to pick up the children from Specials, it proceeded to worsen. By the time I was back to my room I could barely hold myself up. I hobbled down to the nurse and collapsed on her bed in EXCRUCIATING pain! I have never felt pain like this, not even during child birth! To make a long story short I was taken by ambulance to the hospital, given A LOT of morphine, and then had my appendix out around midnight. What a champ Bobby was at arranging pick-up of the Jackson and Madelyn, and managing to help me stay calm at the same time. I had some wonderful friends waiting with me in the ER while Bobby got the children and settled them in with Mimi at our house. I am doing much better, but I am sad that I was not at my peak to enjoy Halloween with Jackson.
Bobby took Jackson and Madelyn out to trick-or-treat around our neighborhood. I don't think he as even eaten a single piece of candy...he is happy to sit there and count them. That is fine by me. I really can do without all the cavities that come with candy! I will try to post a couple pics from Halloween this weekend.
